SMOKE GHOST & OTHER APPARITIONSFritz LeiberEdited by John Pelan & Steve Savile Introduction by Ramsey Campbell This title is out of print. |
Midnight House is pleased to announce a landmark event for devotees of weird fiction: a second new collection of stories by Fritz Leiber! Assembled here we have a selection of some of Mr. Leiber’s most renowned tales with a liberal dose of rarities that have been unavailable in any form for many years. Were that not enough to make this a cornerstone volume, we are pleased to present the first publication anywhere of a “lost” novelette, “The Enormous Bedroom”!
From the classic tales such as the titular piece to the more modern stories such as “Dark Wings”, this is a collection that presents an overview of Leiber’s fiction from the early pulps such as Unknown and Weird Tales to contemporary masterpieces such as “The Button Molder”. Many of the stories herein have never appeared in a collection under Leiber’s byline prior to this publication. Noted author Ramsey Campbell has provided an introduction and editors John Pelan and Steve Savile provide some bibliographic notes on the texts of this volume and the preceding collection, The Black Gondolier.
We must add a word of warning: our previous Leiber collection, The Black Gondolier sold out in just a few weeks. We are accepting pre-paid retail
orders now for Smoke Ghost and Other Apparitions with an anticipated shipping date of February 25th. Despite the anticipated demand for this collection,
we are not increasing our standard print-run of 450 copies. Existing Midnight House customers will be given priority.
